Textile Designer Marianna Penga works cross-discipline in the fields of fashion, art, and interiors. With an avantgarde approach to textiles she is treating fabric in a way that is both experimental and innovative. Fascinated by the manipulation and plasticity of materials, her designs emerge from the patterns and shapes of nature. Bold colours and organic forms to three-dimensional designs, encapsulated in signature prints on fabric, cushions and throws.
Marianna works on commissions for Art Museums, fashion designers, interior and architectural studios; recent projects include participation in art exhibitions, a luxury villa furnishing collection and collaborations with Interior design studios.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins/ UAL, Marianna specialized in Textile Futures, freelancing for fashion designers; Julien McDonald, Simon Wang, Pantelis Panteli and participated in International Trade Fairs; Pulse, Top Drawer, Pure London and Éclat De Mode Paris under her own label.
Returning to Cyprus in 2006, she began working on commissions for the Zambelas Art Museum and Handicraft Centre Nicosia, participated in the international art festival Handmade in Britain at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and at the A.G. Leventis Artists’ Bazaar, produced luxury home furnishings for a villa in Mykonos in collaboration with Stroke Design Studio, and currently showing at the exhibition ‘Flavours of Art’ at Larnaca Manicipal Gallery with a limited edition interior/textile piece.
