Guillaume ‘SupaKitch’ Grando was born in Bagnolet in the suburbs of Paris in 1978. He started graffiti at the age of 12 and took a degree in Graphic Design in 1997. Raised up with mangas and hip-hop culture, passionated by art and music since his childhood, SupaKitch found a large choice of mediums and sources of inspiration in the street that flourished in his work. His first graffiti dates back to 1990.
Since his first walls in 1990, SupaKitch has often been accompanied by his wife and artist Koralie. He has been commissioned by institutions such as the Museum of World Cultures (Väldskulturmuseet) in Goteborg in 2010 or by major brands such as Converse. The most recent project was realized in Dax in 2020, where he had a huge swimming pool at the Thermal Institute. His artworks are exhibited in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Guillaume Grando gradually breaks with figuration in his painting to focus on what he thinks is essential : gesture, movement, light and matter – influenced by the surfing experience and other important steps of experimentation with materials in his artistic approach. His work is inspired by real matter to transform it into abstraction while stimulating nostalgic feelings and summer memories. As a multidisciplinary artist with a strong background in graphic design and art direction. SupaKitch has signed prestigious collaborations with Figaret, BMW, IKEA as well as famous Swiss watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier.
