Dainelli Studio’s Birds Eye View collection for YO2 takes its inspiration from a bird’s vista from above as it flies over desert sand dunes or vast lakes. The project includes rugs and wallpaper united by the same pattern – defined by lines sketching shapes with irregular profiles – and available in four colourways. Nuanced pale grey combines with dark grey in the chromatic palette, with touches of various shades of green, yellow ochre and sandy beige.

In most of our Western cultures, paradise is a wonderful garden for some, that of delights for others, but above all a universal garden, the garden of the world. It is this idea that inspired “Heaven Green.” This large panorama, unfolding on a wallpaper more than six meters long, associates Olympus with the luxuriance of a fantasized Amazon. Conducive to daydreaming, this drawing then develops on two soft rugs with free shapes, this time more candidly evoking the clouds that run over the drawing they illustrate.

The kingdom of the “heavenly people” and the land between East and West … a rich heritage of medieval Serbia was the main theme for this collection. Symbols and tradition associated with the motherland and the people (14thcentury Gračanica Monastery, the Crown of Helen (Nemanjić) of Anjou as well as the red peonies of Kosovo as the symbol of suffering, heaven and pearls)… brought together create a surreal composition that evokes the impression of ancestral spirits who are eternally watching over us.

Our challenge in this collection was to bring the concept of three-dimensionality into the flat reality of the wallpapers. Using very simple and geometrical shapes we mainly focused our design considering three main elements, such as colors, shadows and lights. The final result is similar to a 1950s boiserie, a slight relief that gives dynamism to the environment.

Our challenge in this collection was to bring the concept of three-dimensionality into the flat reality of the wallpapers. Using very simple and geometrical shapes we mainly focused our design considering three main elements, such as colors, shadows and lights. The final result is similar to a 1950s boiserie, a slight relief that gives dynamism to the environment.

Contours are the outlines that describe objects. Thin lines following different directions enable the creator to define and give information about the object in focus. A description of imaginary objects with a synthesis of color and of simple lines varying in thickness and density allowed us to be playful with the depth of an otherwise two-dimensional object.

The concept of the Meteoro furniture collection transported to the two-dimensional wallpaper while still maintaining the illusion of depth, shadow, and light. Imagining a contemporary version of the “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” book, by Jules Verne, with the discovery of new depths and the unearthing of unseen metals and rocks. The glowy look gives the allure of luxury and brilliance, like a faux sparkler that tricks our perception of wealth in an enchanting manner.

A wallpaper collection inspired by the allure of stained glass windows. Colored pieces of glass are arranged to form iconographic patterns, held together by a black outline, transforming the interior in a positive way by introducing color and light into an otherwise dark interior. A collection of rugs and wallpaper inspired by the Op Art patterns in vogue in British Interiors in the ‘80s, Kingdom by Dainelli Studio for YO explodes with colour. Available in four graphic versions, Kingdom is available in the Macaron and Military variants. The former is more feminine, with colours ranging from pink to blue tones. In the Military the colours lean towards shades of dark green, grey and ivory. All the geometric motifs in the design take a variety of forms depending on the chosen colours, highlighting the various edges and depths of the pattern at different times.
